This ridiculous doggie-captioned picture is apt I tell you...because I've been ravenously hungry after the hardest 90+minutes of riding I've ever done at the Sea Otter Cross Country race this past Sunday. And yes, 90 minutes is relatively short for a cross country race, but not when it's 85-90 humid degrees. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I had heat chills pretty badly at about mile 14 and had to back off the pace to be able to even finish the race. I was on my gorgeous new Felt hardtail (see below), who I have decisively named Jack. Anyone who knows me well will tell you I'm quite decisive...with the exception of ordering Indian food or wine, but I digress. Jack rode beautifully.
Jack and I needed to become better acquainted after the short track race on saturday, during which I needed to hop off of him three different times fix some mechanical hiccups. But thanks to Shimano, Jack was all dialed in for the cross country race on sunday. He rode like a champ. (Scroll down to pro women :).
A week from today The Tour of Gila starts, so I need to shake this bad sore throat/cold I started feeling yesterday :(. But my immunity has been super strong this past year, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic about getting back to 100% healthy soon :).
